Dhanteras (October 29, 2024)

On Dhanteras, homes and offices are cleaned to welcome Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth. People buy gold, silver, or utensils for prosperity. In the evening, a small puja is performed with diyas, flowers, and incense, praying for wealth and health. Muhurat: 6:31 PM to 8:13 PM IST.

Naraka Chaturdashi (October 30, 2024)

Also known as Chhoti Diwali, people start with a ritual bath, called Abhyanga Snan, and pray for the removal of negative energies. Diyas are lit to celebrate the victory of Lord Krishna over Narakasura. People make sweets and light lamps around their homes. Muhurat: 6:32 PM to 8:14 PM IST.

Diwali (October 31, 2024)

The main festival of lights, Diwali symbolizes the triumph of good over evil. Homes are cleaned, lamps are lit, and rangolis are drawn. Lakshmi Puja is performed in the evening to invite prosperity. Offer new clothes and light diyas around the home. Crackers are burst as part of the celebration. Muhurat: 6:52 PM to 8:41 PM IST.

Govardhan Puja (November 2, 2024)

Commemorates Lord Krishna lifting the Govardhan Hill to protect Vrindavan. People make a hill-like structure from cow dung or clay, symbolizing Mount Govardhan. They offer prayers and food in gratitude for protection and blessings. Muhurat: 6:34 PM to 8:15 PM IST.

Bhai Dooj (November 3, 2024)

This day celebrates the bond between brothers and sisters. Sisters perform an aarti for their brothers, apply tika, and pray for their prosperity. Brothers give gifts to sisters as a promise of protection. Muhurat: 1:10 PM to 3:20 PM IST.
