Although eye-clean, brightly colored stones are ideal for astrological use, they can be expensive. However, it is always better to avoid wearing any gemstone than to wear a treated one that offers no benefit or may cause harm. Fortunately, astrologically effective natural gemstones can be found within a reasonable budget if selected carefully.
An exception to this rule is emerald, which is naturally brittle and sensitive to heat. Minor treatment using colorless oil is considered acceptable, as it helps preserve the stone without altering its natural properties. However, colored oils or any treatment that affects the stone’s nature are not suitable for astrological purposes.
When buying gemstones for astrology, it is essential to purchase only natural, untreated stones from a qualified gemologist. Always request a lab certificate from a trusted gem testing laboratory that clearly states whether the gemstone has undergone any treatment.
