A Rudraksha mala is made from the dried seeds of the Rudraksha tree (botanically known as Elaeocarpus ganitrus). These beads are naturally textured and have unique lines or “faces” called mukhis.
Structure
- Typically contains 108 beads plus one larger bead called the Guru bead
- Strung together using thread or silk, sometimes with knots between each bead
- Can also come in smaller versions (27 or 54 beads)
